Alessandro Sanna

One of the stars of the contemporary Italian scene of illustration. His poetic, finely blurred watercolours or flowing ink sketches accompany more than thirty of the author´s own books and tens of more which he has illustrated. He has been nominated for The Hans Christian Anderson Award for Illustration. His illustrations are published in The New Yorker, New York Times and Vanity Fair France. He teaches illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. At the time of this year’s KomiksFEST!, his new book The River, a comic book without words about the seasons on the banks of the Italian river Po, is being published.
