Berliac

(1982) An artist born in Buenos Aires, the bastion of comics in Latin America, is the author of several tens of short comic strips that can be found in many anthologies including Stripburger or Komikaze, and of half a dozen books (for example Rachas, Playground). The last two have already been published in Europe after he had moved to Berlin, where he lives now and publishes a fanzine Seinen Crap. His inspirational roots can be found both in the traditional Argentinean school of sharp black and white contrasts, which even Frank Miller´s Sin City was based on, and in classic Japanese action seinen manga from the 1990s. Through his characters and their mutual relationships his stories sensitively reflect on the contemporary modern world lacking roots and certainty, affected by digital technology and money. He regularly publishes web comics, especially in the magazine Vice.
